Tim Youngs

Professor Tim Youngs is the Director of Nottingham Trent University’s Centre for Travel Writing Studies and is the founder editor of the academic journal Studies in Travel Writing (1997 to present). He is the author or editor of a dozen books, including The Cambridge Companion to Travel Writing (edited with Peter Hulme, Cambridge University Press, 2002), The Cambridge Introduction to Travel Writing (Cambridge University Press, 2013), and The Cambridge History of Travel Writing (edited with Nandini Das, Cambridge University Press, 2013). He is also a poet. His poems have appeared in several print and online magazines, including The Interpreter’s House, Litter, Magma, Poetry Salzburg Review and Stride. His debut pamphlet Touching Distance was published by Five Leaves in 2017. With Sarah Jackson he co-edited the anthology In Transit: Poems of Travel (The Emma Press, 2018).
