Tim Youngs

Professor Tim Youngs is the Director of Nottingham Trent University’s Centre for Travel Writing Studies and is the founder of the journal Studies in Travel Writing. He is widely regarded as a pioneer in the development of travel writing studies, and is the author or editor of nine books to date, including Beastly Journeys: Travel and Transformation at the Fin de Siècle (Liverpool University Press, 2013), The Cambridge Introduction to Travel Writing (Cambridge University Press, 2013), and, co-edited with Peter Hulme, The Cambridge Companion to Travel Writing (Cambridge University Press, 2002). He is also a poet. His pamphlet Touching Distance was published by Five Leaves in 2017, and his poems have appeared in several magazines, including The Interpreter’s HouseThe Journal, Lighthouse, Magma and Poetry Salzburg Review.
