Critical Poetics Reading Group – January 2018

On 31 January, the CPRG reading group discussed Rita Felski’s The Limits of Critique (University of Chicago Press, 2015), which explores the ‘suspicion’ of critique to call for different kinds of critical feelings.

Led by Karen Schaller (Senior Lecturer in Literature at UEA), this session got us thinking about whether, and how, creative-critical work can respond to this new mood of scholarship.

Karen Schaller is a critical, creative, and creative-critical writer specialising in theory and politics of emotion, affect and feeling. Her research tracks the affective economies of literary scholarship at work in neglected writers, subjects and forms and in the academic conditions, practices and pedagogies of literary study.
