Reading Group – October 2018

‘A New Set of Possibilities’? On Weds 24th October 2018, we discussed Fourth Person Singular by Nuar Alsadir.

Nuar Alsadir suggests that ‘a new set of possibilities can unsettle the poetic order’ (’Clown School’, Granta Magazine, 2017, p.9). Jo Dixon (NTU) lead a discussion of Fourth Person Singular, exploring how Alsadir unsettles the poetic order by disrupting the borders between lyric, fragment, essay, aphorism and the unconscious, and asking what new possibilities might there be for our own writing.
